(Al-Anfal) 8 : 38
قُلْ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ يَنْتَهُوا يُغْفَرْ لَهُمْ مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ وَإِنْ يَعُودُوا فَقَدْ مَضَتْ سُنَّتُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
You say to those who disbelieved! If they desist from disbelief, their past would be forgiven for them; but if they persist, the consequence that happened for those before them is well-known.
In the absence of Knowledge—Adhikr, any offense happened will be forgiven if he follows and testifies Adhikr after receiving It as explained in verses 2: 159-161 and 4: 146. When people become wrongdoers and transgressors by hiding Adhikr, they will be uprooted as explained in verse 6: 47. See explanation 3: 89-91; 4: 146-147 and 8: 19-20.
